Whiskey Paint has been with me for nearly every Kickstarter since I first got into comics. In 2022 with the launch of Spirit of the Dragon🐉 Issue #1, we all celebrated the Year the of Tiger. And with the launch of Issue #5 on Monday, this will probably be the end of this amazing print (for me), but the beginning for you!

At the beginning of the Issue #4 Kickstarter, I literally had two (2) left of this Limited Edition 50 variant cover of Issue #1. Both were snagged almost immediately, but one of those backers... Well, their payment did not go through, and that means, I STILL HAVE ONE LEFT!!!

In addition to the very last (in my inventory) of the Whiskey Paint LE 50 Lunar New Year 2022 variant cover; I also have five (5) of the Limited Edition 25 metal trading cards! So, for the fifth (5th) and final Spirit of the Dragon Kickstarter, I will be offering three (3) of these metal cards for $25 each. And the other two, I will offering at my discretion to two (2) different backers who add-on the Mystery Metal Trading Card at $5.

My usual considerations for selecting which Mystery Metal Cards I throw in a backer's package are: how I feel at that given moment, other items that backer ordered, my current overstock of metal cards, how many other campaigns they've backed of mine, and how high their backer amount is.

Issue #3 & #4 Low Inventory Counts

When I first started out doing this, and doing conventions, I had no idea what I was doing. I printed hundreds (and I mean many hundreds) of my Issue #1 and #2 retail covers. By Issue #3 (of both Angel of Darkness💀 and Spirit of the Dragon🐉), I had a pretty good idea of how many extra retail covers to print.

What am I going on about? Well, going into Spirit of the Dragon🐉 Issue #5, I am literally sitting on the last three (3) copies of Issue #3 and the last seventeen (17) copies of Issue #4. Now, these will be available as add-ons at the launch of the Kickstarter (unless of course someone buys them off my website at https://store.opticalillusionstudios.com before campaign launch*).

With the concurrent launch of the Spirit of the Dragon🐉 Graphic Novel, this will be last anyone will ever see of the Issue #3 & #4 retail cover comics (aside from a major comic distribution deal, but those will be coded different, so they won't really be the same, but I digress....)

In the place of the Issue #3 and #4 retail cover comics I fully expect to sell out before the early bird period concludes, I am offering special 50% off discounts on the Miss Shashi LE 100 variant cover of Issue #3 and the Emerald Weapon A LE 100 variant cover of Issue #4.
